2023 Official Rules and Prize Structure

Official Rules

Sebago Lake Trout and Maine State Regulations Apply.

Only Lake Trout (Togue) are eligible for prizes.

Unlimited fish under 26".  One per angler 26" or over.

Fishing begins at 5am and you must be in line with your fish at the weigh station by 4pm.  At 4:01pm, a representative from Standish Fish & Game will enter the line.  No one who enters after the representative will be weighed in.

Each person in the boat must be registered.  The team must be registered to be eligible for team prizes. A team consists of all members on a single boat.

If you can not register online or at Jordan's Store, contact us at laketroutshootout@gmail.com for alternative arrangements.

Each fish is eligible for both individual and team prizes.

Each person will enter the first weigh station with their heaviest fish (a pre-weigh station will be available).

We will not weigh multiple fish to determine your heaviest fish.

There will be a leader-board at the first weigh station and will be updated real time.

At the second weigh station, we will weigh the team's lightest five fish. A team must enter five fish to be eligible for this prize.

At the final weigh station we will count all of your fish for a total team tally (total number of fish, not weight).

If you do not want to keep your fish, we will have a fish collection container.  The fish will be recycled into compost.

Tie-breakers:

In the event two (or more) prize winning fish weigh the same, the tie-breaker will be length.  In the unlikely event the two (or more) fish are also the same length, the prize will be split evenly.

If two (or more) teams have exactly the same weight of their five lightest fish, the prize will be split evenly between the winning teams.

If two (or more) teams have exactly the same number of fish turned in, the prize will be split evenly between the winning teams.

Mike Doiron and Shawn Franck, of the Standish Fish & Game Club will serve as mediators.

All lake trout are subject to inspection.

For clarity:  If an angler has the three heaviest fish caught in the tournament, that angler IS eligible to win all three individual prizes.  Moreover, if that same individual's team also catches the lightest five fish and the most fish, that team CAN win both team prizes as well.
